From June 18 to June 27, 2024, Boundary Elementary Grade 7 student Freja Klausen proudly represented Canada at the United Nations' 56th Human Rights Council Summit in Geneva, Switzerland.

Freja is a member of the Child Rights Connect Children's Advisory Team (CAT), which began its activities in February 2020 on global access to education for children and drafted plans to improve this.

While representing Canada at the summit, Freja had opportunity to speak to delegates from around the world.

The Elizabeth Fry Society nominated Freja to CAT when she was in grade 6 because of her passion and work in school fundraising for children of disadvantaged families, particularly those with single mothers who have been incarcerated.

Freja wishes to become a human rights lawyer.

Congratulations, Freja; North Vancouver is so proud of you!
