Building for a Greener Future Together is an exciting pilot project recently completed at Cheakamus Centre. As shared in this blog post, the Centre joined forces with the Aboriginal Housing Management Association, B Collective Homes, and BCIT School of Construction and the Environment to address Indigenous gender inequalities in the building trades. Creating space for Western and Indigenous ways of knowing and being, Cabin #4 was transformed into a teaching tool for real-time lessons in energy-efficient retrofits and green construction.
We are pleased to share a video highlighting the project, which includes thoughts and observations from the project's participants, including students, instructors, and local community leaders.
