And that's a wrap! Congratulations to all the grads who walked across the stage in June 2021 in their cap and gown. You did it!

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the restrictions with in-person events, over 1,300 grads from the North Vancouver School District were invited to the Gordon Smith Gallery at the Education Services Centre to be filmed crossing the stage. Students arrived in their caps and gowns for professional photos. They were met outside by their families and loved ones with words of congratulations and further celebratory photo opportunities.

The North Shore News released a special Grad 2021 feature, which includes a letter to the recent grads from North Shore News Reporter Andy Prest and an article about Gotcha, a suspense-thriller created by the Digital Media Academy and Argyle Drama. The special allowed families to submit photos and messages to publicly share their congrats. It also provided a space for schools to highlight the names of graduating students, a congratulatory message from Board Chair George Tsiakos and Superintendent Mark Pearmain and a few highlight photos from COVID-safe celebrations, including car parades, tail-gate celebrations, and messages from local businesses.

Please take a look at the highlight reels for all seven of the North Vancouver School District secondary schools. On June 30, all grads and their families can watch the full ceremony video which includes choir/band performances, special message from their Principal and Superintendent, plus awards, valedictorian speeches and other tributes to the Class of 2021.

We would like to thank GradsBC for producing our grad ceremony videos and highlights and Riggit for transforming the Gordon Smith Gallery of Canadian Art for Grad 2021. We would also like to thank the following local businesses who helped make Grad 2021 a success: Trims and Greenscape for the décor; Franki & Co for the balloon display; Lonsdale Events for the rental items; and Duolynx for the stage and backdrop banners. Many more businesses and organizations were involved, and we have acknowledged them in the NS News Grad 2021 feature.
