Graduated Licensing and Road Safety

By Harvey Kooner, Road Safety & Community Coordinator, ICBC

ICBC Handsworth.pngThank you Therese and Handsworth administration for having us at your school recently.

More than 300 grade 10s at Handsworth Secondary attended a mandatory assembly where North Vancouver RCMP officers (Cst. Law, Cst. Alviz and Cst. Lutz) and ICBC Driver Examiners (Lee-Ann and Bob) delivered a presentation on Graduated Licensing and Road Safety. Thanks to School Board Trustee Kulvir Mann and Cpl. Potts for coming by as well and supporting today's outreach.

There were lots of good questions from Handsworth students, especially around the topic of Distracted Driving and Graduated Licensing. The audience was well behaved, attentive and buzzing with conversations at times on what they were learning.

Terrific job by North Vancouver RCMP officers and ICBC Driver Examiners collaborating and presenting to teens.

Special thanks to Therese for being proactive to book this presentation; we'll be at your school again with a Road Safety Speaker and Distracted Driving Simulator another time.
