Devon Bruce was born in North Vancouver and has returned to live on the North Shore for the past six years. Devon brings his experience in education and non-profit management to the role of Trustee.
As a member of the board, he strives to stay closely connected to faculty, parents and students and believes that consultation with key community stakeholders is integral to the school districts progress.
His objectives for the board are to be fiscally responsible, transparent and accountable, and to keep their main priority, the students, at the forefront of policy.
Devon has a Diploma of Business Management from Douglas College and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine. He has supported people with disabilities and special needs for over a decade in varying roles. Devon currently manages the Employment and Social Enterprise programs at North Shore ConneXions Society.
Devon has a broad view of education, as he worked for Global Affairs Canada and Douglas College in rural Uganda developing education programs for primary schools. He has also volunteered and coached several programs for the North Shore Special Olympics.
