Lynn Valley School Band Program

North Vancouver has one of the best Elementary band programs in British Columbia.  The three ensembles reach a high level of musicianship with difficult repertoire and skilled execution.  The Senior and Jazz Bands have been attending the Kiwanis Music Festival for many years, and have received many gold and special awards for the ensembles as well as for individual student performances.

The program begins with Junior Band in Grade 5 and goes on to Grade 6 and 7 Senior Band.

Other performances during the year include:  a Chrismas Concert, Zone Concert at Argyle School, the NVSD Band & Strings Festival, the Lynn Valley Day Parade, and the year end Concert.  There is also a District Elementary Honour Band that plays with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra every second year.  Many Lynn Valley students audition and many are accepted to play in this ensemble.
