​The grade six students had an opportunity earlier this week to walk from Eastview Elementary to the Residential School Monument located on the grounds of St. Thomas Aquinas Independent School. There we had the honour of hearing from an elder from the Squamish Nation. He was able to share stories from his childhood as a survivor of the residential school and provide words of wisdom for our students regarding the path towards reconciliation. The trip was one that will remain in our memories and add to our understanding of our history.
