May 16, 2016

Simon Fraser University's Centre for Dialogue is working with the District of North Vancouver on the Delbrook Lands Community Dialogue engagement process.  Input from the District of North Vancouver community will help inform the Municipal Council's decision about the future use of the Delbrook Lands, once the old community recreation centre closes at the end of this year.

An upcoming Delbrook Lands Deliberative Dialogue event is scheduled on Saturday, June 18, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  The event will result in community recommendations for the future of the site.  It's important to have a wide number of people register their interest, so that as many perspectives as possible are in the room.  SFU's Centre for Dialogue and the District of North Vancouver are especially looking for registrations from those aged 15-30 and 31-45 and have spots reserved for both of these groups. Childcare stipends are available.

The link to register interest in participating is: https://sfu.fluidsurveys.com/s/delbrookdialogue/ .  The deadline to register is May 18, 2016.

There are 100 available seats (50 for local Delbrook residents and 50 for District-wide residents and stakeholders), and participants will be selected using a random process on May 20, 2016.

More information about the process can be found at www.dnv.org/delbrooklands
