Assistant Superintendent - North Vancouver School District

Leadership.jpgLeadership Opportunity - North Vancouver School District is highly regarded for the quality of its education and commitment to students.  Its mandate is to provide world-class instruction and a rich diversity of engaging programs to inspire success for every student and bring communities together to learn, share, and grow.  With an operating budget of $160 million, the new Assistant Superintendent will work with the Superintendent/CEO to provide leadership and vision to approximately 16,000 students, as well as teachers, staff, and parents in 33 schools spanning two municipalities.

Reporting directly to the Superintendent/CEO, and as part of the executive leadership team, the new Assistant Superintendent will play a critical role in executing on the District’s commitment to progressive and innovative development in public education.  You will provide leadership and support to students, staff, parents, and the community at large through your oversight of a grouping of schools while acting as a mentor and coach to teachers and administration across the District.

As the ideal candidate you are an accomplished, passionate educator currently in a district level, leadership role and bring a strong operational background with extensive experience in the running of schools.  Highly relational, innovative, and progressive, you are a champion of the public school system and committed to fostering high performing, inclusive, student-centred learning environments. You are known as collaborative in nature, evidenced through your respected, relational approach to supporting and mentoring staff and your comfort in empowering others to lead.  Additionally, you are able to tackle issues systematically, keeping things on track and stepping in as appropriate to guide the team’s collective growth and success.
