Soccer Academy

Located at Windsor Secondary, Grades 8-12

​In partnership with the North Shore Girls' Soccer Club, the academy provides for the participation of all students, male and female, regardless of their soccer experience. The Soccer Academy consists of a soccer curriculum as set out by the North Shore Girls' Soccer Club and in compliance with the BC Ministry of Education's Prescribed Learning Outcomes for Physical Education.  Students earn their grade-equivalent P.E. credit upon successful completion of the program. 

Note: Registration in the Soccer Academy will not affect a player's ability to play on their home school's soccer team.

How to apply

If you are interested in applying for an academy for the 2017-2018 year, please contact us at academies@sd44.ca to request an application form. Please specify for which academy you are requesting in the email.

To be completed upon acceptance:

  • Student Medical Form
  • Personal Information Consent Form

Returning students must reapply to the Soccer Academy every year. 

Total spots available will be dependent on the number of applications received and the ability of schools to organize suitable timetables to meet student needs.

Selection

Priority 1 - Returning students

Priority 2 - Waitlisted players from the previous year

Priority 3 - Lottery for remaining players.

If necessary, student selection for the Soccer Academy will be determined by a lottery in a manner consistent with the Board Policy 605: Admission of Students to School.  Note: Those players not selected via the lottery will be placed on a waitlist. 

Fees

$1,650 program fee per school year ($165/month).

First month payment confirms placement in the academy and is non-refundable. It is due on or before June 1, 2107. If a family chooses to pay in 10 installments, this must be set up for automatic withdrawal in September 2017 with the first payment due October 1, 2017 and then on the first of each month through June 2018. Information for payment will be included in the acceptance package. An additional course fee may apply to out-of-district students. Non-payment or late payment of fees may incur a penalty and/or result in loss of placement in the academy.
