Senior Argyle Gold team wins full paid bid to High School World Championships

April 13, 2018

As you have hopefully heard, the Argyle cheer teams did a fantastic job on the weekend at the Sea to Sky International Competition; the largest competition of the year.

The Argyle Green Team (juniors) came in second out of six teams, and the Gold Team won a full paid bid to the High School World Championships in February 2019! Both teams competed with runs of zero deductions, which helped seal their wins.

The Argyle Gold team also won a non-paid bid in 2016 and attended the World Championships in 2017 in Florida. At this competition, they had great success being named the top Canadian team as well as the silver medalists.

The paid bid to the 2019 World Championships is awarded by the BC Cheerleading Association, and covers hotel costs, competition package fees, Disney park passes for athletes, and airport transportation.

The competition takes place in February 2019 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports in Orlando, Florida, with teams from all over the world. The Argyle cheer teams are very excited about this opportunity and can't wait to get things started!

The North Vancouver School District wishes the Argyle cheer teams best of luck at future competitions.
